Yukigassen is a fun, fast-paced, outdoor winter team sport.
An organized snowball fight that originated in Japan, teams consist of 9 players, and the game has rules similar to dodgeball and capture the flag. The winning team gets the other team out first by hitting them with snowballs, or by capturing their opponent’s flag.
Play Sask hosts coed rec sports for adults, so all games are mixed-gender, and players must be at least 18+. Games are self-officiated.
A snowball fight can only happen outside in the cold weather, but games are short (about 15 minutes), and with warm up shelters and a heated building nearby, even on the coldest days, you’ll be comfortable. Plus, running around keeps you warm!
Play Sask is planning a yukigassen tournament to take place in March 2019! If you’re interested in participating, call Ashleigh at 306-292-1819, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
