We started Play Sask Sports & Recreation because we believe in getting active and having fun.
Our number one priority is to create a fun, welcoming, inclusive environment to play and socialize with friends. Launching in fall 2017 with an adult dodgeball league, we plan on hosting fun events (like a beach dodgeball tournament, or our FREE Learn to Play Dodgeball event), and adding other sports leagues like pickleball, yukigassen, and kickball.
To build a fun playing atmosphere, first you need to focus on good sportsmanship. Our Spirit Points scoring system is on a scale of 0-5, and we’ll talk to teams that fall below 3. If a team consistently scores below 3, they won’t be able to play in the finals, and we may not invite them back to the league. It sounds harsh, but our goal is to encourage teams to play nice.
If you’re new to the city, or simply looking to widen your social circle, you’ve come to the right place. We want you to meet new people, and have fun doing it. Spectators are welcome, too! There’s nothing better than having a cheering section.
We believe in inclusivity. Anyone and everyone should come play, whether you have any experience or not. First and foremost, this is a fun league!
Talk to us
A welcoming environment is a friendly environment. Our league reps are the cheerleaders for their sport; they’re happy to help, and they’ll answer any questions you might have. Please talk to them!
The owners of the league play the sports themselves, so if you have feedback you want to share, we’ll see you on the field. (Or feel free to contact us!)
