Spirit Award winners show why we love sports!

March 23, 2020 by Play Sask

The end of the season may have been cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic but we still want to celebrate the teams and people who make this league so great.

The Spirit Award winners were chosen by votes from other players, submitted through our Spirit Award Nomination form. Let it be known that other teams think these players are great to play with!

Individual Spirt Award winners: Eddie & Riley

While most of the nominations went to teams, a few individual players received accolades, too. Dodgeball player Eddie and soccer player Riley got props from their competitors.

Riley helps almost every team in the with subs. Thursday and Saturday league. He is the face of PlaySask imo.

– Reason for nomination

[Eddie] subbed for us when we were really short on players. / He’s awesome.

Monday Casual Dodgeball: Beta Blockers & Tools of Oppression

Both teams are full of new players and despite losing every game so far, are both filled with lots of joy, and are still having fun and doing their best!!

– Reason for nomination

We didn’t get a team photo of Tools of Oppression, but you can see them in action here!

Tuesday Casual Dodgeball: Guardians of Asgard

Guardians of Asgard win in part because their teammate Colin is so enthusiastic.

[Colin] always looks like he’s having fun. Probably goes “out” more then he should.

– Reason for nomination

It was a tight race for Spirit Awards on Tuesday! Runners-up include:

  • Fresh Prince of Ball-air
  • O’Houlihans
  • Ballsheviks

Wednesday Competitive Dodgeball: The Mighty Ducks

The whole team. They have had three consecutive winless seasons. They keep playing hard, and never quit!!

– Reason for nomination

Runners-up:

  • Inanimate Carbon Rods
  • BALL FONDLERS!!
  • Fresh Princess of Ball-air
