The Government of Saskatchewan recently announced that Phase 4 of the reopen Saskatchewan plan will be splitting into two parts to allow for seasonal outdoor recreation. This is exciting news!
We’re more hopeful than ever that we’ll be able to offer July-August summer leagues for outdoor soccer and beach dodgeball but we won’t be opening registration until we know (1) how many weeks the season will be and (2) what the guidelines for outdoor recreation will be.
Once the government announces the official date for Phase 4, Part 1, and releases guidelines for organizations like ours, we’ll open registration at a price based on the amount of play time you’ll be getting, with a plan that conforms to the guidelines.
We’re also starting to plan the fall season. Indoor recreation falls under Phase 4, Part 2 of the reopen Saskatchewan plan, so as with Part 1, we won’t be opening registration until more is known about that phase.
Some of our ideas for reopening during Phase 4 include:
- Taking measures to ensure games remain under the maximum number of people allowed to gather.
- Shorter seasons so it’s easier to manage if a second wave hits and need to close down again.
- Sanitizing equipment after every game.
- Shorter games with more time between games so there’s less crossover of people.
The facilities we rent will also have measures in place and we’ll make sure those are communicated to players.
We can’t wait to see you all soon!
