We’re excited to offer indoor sports this fall season! Our co-ed rec indoor soccer league for adults start the week of Sept. 21 and run until the end of November.
The league follows futsal rules, which means it uses a smaller size 4 ball, has kick-ins instead of throw-ins, and has boundaries — players cannot play against the wall.
Futsal is a great way for experienced players to practice passing and ball control, and it’s a great introduction to the beautiful game for beginners.
In order to comply with the COVID-19 guidelines this season, teams will be placed in a pool of 3-5 teams with a maximum of 10-15 players allowed per team. Final roster amounts allowed will be determined once we know the size of the pool, so plan to only allow 10 people to play.
Putting teams in pools like this allows us to keep mini-leagues under 50 players, which is the maximum allowed. Players cannot sub between different cohorts.
Because this is a mini-league season, we won’t be awarding prizes, though we’ll still be keeping score and you’ll have the bragging rights about being the top team in your pool.
We’re also implementing a COVID-19 plan to help keep our players safe. Captains must share this plan with their players, and all players must obey measures put in place by facilities and directions from Play Sask staff.
